Anke Wijnja
Anke Wijnja, born in Groningen (1972) Lives with husband Mathieu and children Isa and Zep and cat Maus in Amsterdam Noord.
She is an active member of De Ceuvel, in Amsterdam Noord. There she manages, among other things, the maintenance and research around the 'Zuiverend Park' - where the polluted soil is cleaned up bit by bit with the help of plants through various forms of phytoremediation. In addition, she works with the plants that spontaneously emerge and allows parts of the site to run wild for the benefit of non-human life. In 2023, becoming a Zoöp was therefore a logical next step for De Ceuvelers.
Anke graduated cum laude from Delft University of Technology (Industrial Design), has worked for over 20 years as a landscape designer (natural playgrounds & experience gardens for people with dementia) and now mainly takes people outside in sessions and workshops.
In addition to being an engineer, she is a certified mindfulness trainer, walking and nature coach, bushcrafter and in training to become a herbalist.
She can be contacted about topics such as:
Phytoremediation, HXRF method soil samples heavy metals, being a Zoöp, non-human life on a brownfield, wild picking, forest bathing, natural play for children with disabilities, sensory design.
