Ground for Wellbeing

Ground for Wellbeing works in Tuindorp Oostzaan towards a healthy, green and socially connected neighbourhood. By placing soil, water and residents at the centre together, they are building a district that better captures and retains rainwater, can cope with heat and drought, and creates space for encounter and connection.

Highlights of the goals Ground for Wellbeing is working towards as a Zoöp:
- Firmly embedding the Zoöp idea in the project
The entire Bodem voor de Buurt team is supported in thinking and acting from a perspective of integral wellbeing for all life – from humans and animals to plants and soil. This way, the Zoöp way of thinking and working becomes part of decisions, collaboration and implementation. - Actively involving and engaging the neighbourhood in the Zoöp idea
Residents discover step by step how their own wellbeing is connected to that of the entire living environment. Through communication, activities and citizen science projects such as species counts, the neighbourhood actively participates. - Creating designs that are good for both people and nature
The design of the square, the Meteorenweg, and homes and gardens is centred on solutions that work for residents and for other forms of life alike.
