Bodem voor de buurt is a project aimed at creating a strong and healthy soil in Tuindorp Oostzaan, Amsterdam. The soil in this area presents challenges: the ground is subsiding and water has difficulty draining. Dry summers and heavy rainfall only make the problem worse. Residents notice it in the form of puddles in the streets, leaning trees, or dampness and mould in their homes.
That’s why the Bodem voor de buurt project was launched — because this neighbourhood deserves a pleasant and future-proof living environment. The goal? Less water nuisance, more stable soil, greener spaces that can better withstand both drought and rain, and public areas that are safer, more attractive, and more enjoyable.
